History of Cars

The history of cars started in the late 19th century by a man named Karl Benz. He has been credited with inventing the first car in 1885. The first cars invented could only be afforded by the rich. However, as the years passed by, the mass production of vehicles started taking place. Mass production has made cars accessible to the general public. Henry Ford has been credited with starting the mass production of cars. He started mass producing cars in 1913 in Highland Park, Michigan, and he was met with great success. This was a major milestone, because it allowed for faster production of cars and significantly reduced the cost of manufacturing. By the 1920s, automobiles were no longer just for the wealthy, and cars became an essential part of everyday life for people across the world.

As the car industry grew, the expectations of people and competition amongst companies increased. There have been several advancements throughout the years that have made cars more reliable and safer to operate. After World War II, many different types of cars started emerging, which made cars even more popular. At this point, highways were not built yet, but cars were still very popular and widely used amongst people. After highways were built, the usage of cars became even more widespread, and transportation by car increased. Till today, the car industry continues to innovate and improve thanks to the continuous advancement in technology.
